GuidelinelaweGuardian was created in 2007 as an information sharing platform. It addresses the challenges of sharing terrorist-related activity among law enforcement agencies from different jurisdictions.
The platform is a service on the Law enforcement Enterprise Portal (LEEP) and operated by the FBI’s Criminal Justice Information Services (CJIS) Division.
While information found on the platform is sensitive and not meant for the consumption of the public, the information, however, is not classified.

eGuardian serves as a single repository of information allowing the combination of existing suspicious reports with new suspicious activity reports. This coordinated information is made available to law enforcement officers.
Who uses eGuardian?
eGuardian was basically made for federal, state, local, tribal, and territorial law enforcement agencies and local and state fusion centers.
eGuardian login: Who can access eGuardian platform?
Access to the eGuardian platform is only available to fusion center and law enforcement agency partners qualified to access the Law enforcement Enterprise Portal.
eGuardian Vs iGuardian
eGuardian is an FBI platform designed as a repository for suspicious activity reports on terrorism related activities while iGuardian is the FBI’s Industry-Focused Cyber Intrusion Reporting Platform designed to allow industry-based, individual partners to report cyber intrusion incidents in real time.
Another major difference between eGuardian is that while the former was designed for use by law enforcement agencies, the latter was developed specifically for partners within critical telecommunications, defense, banking and finance, and energy infrastructure sectors.
Both platforms are however reporting platforms for sensitive but unclassified information and only accessible to personnel of qualified agencies.

History
eGuardian was created in 2007 as a response to President’s National Strategy for Information Sharing. This initiative shared terrorist-related information across federal and state, local, tribal, territorial jurisdictions. The FBI released a limited amount of the eGuardian information on January 1, 2009.
The platform has experienced significant growth in the number of users and agencies that contribute SARs to it since its inception. eGuardian is also the backbone for the Nationwide SAR Initiative (NSI).
